What is FILM?
FILM stands for Finding Inspiration in Literature & Movies, it is curriculua for facilitators to use with youth that uses movies to promote reading, learing and service. Each curriculum has reading components, discussion prompts, activities and service project ideas.

Who manages the FILM program?
FILM is a national program created and managed by Heartland Truly Moving Pictures and the National Collaboration for Youth (NCY). It is a combined effort by these two non-profit organizations - one with 17 years in the film industry and the other with 30 years in youth development advocacy.
What is the purpose of FILM?
To promote active learning through reading books and viewing Truly Moving Picture Award-winning films.
What is in FILM curriculum?
Three components: reading books, seeing movies and performing service projects. The curriculum includes discussion questions, theme-based activities and service-learning prompts.
Who can use it?
Anyone who works with youth – school teachers, after school program facilitators, church youth group leaders, community youth organizations, parents and mentors.

We work with movie studios and youth educators to develop curriculum that captures key messages from the selected books and movies, and structure it in a format so that teachers and youth facilitators can use it as a resource for teaching.
